Education Model
Shaolin Kungfu Zen manifests the principle of people-centered approach, by focusing on education and working wholeheartedly in the promotion of WuShu. It also designs a whole set of learning program for all kinds of student's martial arts study, providing guidelines for the martial arts field research work. Shaolin Kungfu Zen program is divided into six parts “the children curriculum, the public curriculum, the advance curriculum, the martial arts team curriculum, the health curriculum, the special curriculum”. Each set of teaching materials contain the martial arts etiquette, the martial arts basic knowledge, the primary coverage, the self-defense wrestle capture technique and the physical ability training. Teaching material presents the clear goal, the reasonable study through induction and conformity, and is a rare set of teaching operation pattern for the current international martial arts study.
Kids Class
Pee Wee Classes are for 3-6 year old kids primarily. The program reflects interest and flexibility. To consider children's cognition and study attention problem, the program carries on the rank establishment. The children rank establishment has been set to ten levels, each time will be promoted along with the children age growth and the cognition enhancement. After kids completed ten levels of study, the teaching system will naturally put children's study and the overall martial arts plan together, thus will form a complete knowledge of Kungfu Zen.
General Class
- The General Classes is divided into 9 levels 16 steps, which takes the Shaolin Kungfu Zen inheritance as the main purpose, completely understands Shaolin Kungfu Zen culture. During the course of studying, students learn about international prevalent martial arts knowledge, embrace the good desire of co-prosperity, and coexistence of multiple cultures. The curriculum has disseminated Shaolin kungfu Zen and the martial arts comprehensive cultural knowledge, and has enormous guiding significance to raise the talented person for international martial arts simultaneously. Students can understand the martial arts culture comprehensively after such teaching process.
- Basic stances, kicks and fighting techniques, as well as traditional barehanded and traditional weapon forms
Taichi & Qigong Classes
- The health program aims at students’ need for fitness and health. The main purpose is to help students to grasp the skill of keeping in good health. The course content is broad, representative, and relevant. The objective is achieved through Shaolin kungfu Zen three steps: maintaining body, controlling breathing, and adjusting mind to achieve mental and physical well-beings and longevity.
- Graceful slow martial movements & relaxed meditative breathing combined in traditional Taiji routines designed for both health and also involves hidden, advanced level self- defense applications. Includes barehanded routines and tai chi sword routines. Tai Chi is a recognized form of meditation and is a well known CAM health exercise regimen recognized to bring decreased aging and greater stability for different human who will be needed.
Kungfu Team
- The martial arts team program mainly aims at the modern martial arts training and demonstration of the individual talent and display of the competition. The goal of this part is to produce professional martial arts persons.
- Standardized competition routines with main focus on improving speed, flexibility, agility and power
Characteristic Classes
- The characteristic Classes program covers five areas of WuShu: fist movement, weapons, wresting, folk culture, and health classes. Shaolin Kungfu Zen embodies the characteristic of martial arts and Zen meditation.
- The characteristic class demonstrates the teaching crystallization through various efforts in the teaching process by having the most direct responses to the teaching characteristic and the teaching level.
Lion Dance & Dragon Classes
- Lion & Dragon Dance classes. Some skilled performers go on to represent our school at Lion & Dragon Dance performances such as our Demo Team performances, which often include Lion & Dragon Dance.
- Our Lion & Dragon dancers form an important part of the Demo Performance Team we send to various locations to entertain and demonstrate authentic Chinese culture.
GENERAL CLASS
Beginners to advanced students will learn physical, technical as well as historical and philosophical aspects of traditional kungfu. The rigorous workout will cover the basic fundamentals of kung fu: stretching, breathing, stances, kicking, punching, and mental focus. Over time, students will develop skills is not only to defend themselves but also learn a new way of life and how to look at it.
KUNGFU WEAPON PRACTICE
The weapons class of the ancient warriors of China is a big part in the training of a traditional kungfu student. The range of weapons is enormous, from the long to short, and from the hard to the soft. In kungfu, weapons are thought that as an extension of ones own body; hence weapons training will lend great insight into ones skill in empty-handed self-defense.
TWO-MEN PRACTICE
This special class is an introduction to the practice of partner drills. These drills will be used to train the students' understanding of fundamental strikes, blocks and kicking techniques against an opponent. Different drills will emphasize various situations, scenarios, and types of fighting techniques. Eventually, the student will learn choreographed matching or sparring sets, empty-handed as well as with weapons with increasing difficulty.
