We have been informed by Gurvir’s father that both Gurvir and Nathan have received Respect Awards from their school. He said this was attributed to by the regular training of discipline and focus. This is what SKZ sets out to have our students strive for on a daily basis.
Our mission is to study, practice, train, test and apply. Receiving an award for Respect demonstrates the application of our path of self-improvement and discipline.
Application doesn’t only refer to using movements learned in combat. It also applies to the usage of knowledge in fields outside of combat in everyday life.
Kungfu teaches that talents and skills obtained in many fields can be influenced and improved by skills obtained from outside fields and vice versa. For example, Kungfu can help you improve your concentration, which can improve your ability to focus on schoolwork, music, or sports.
By receiving an award for respect, it proves that both Nathan and Gurvir have been carrying their knowledge and wisdom from Kungfu over to the non-combative facets of their life.
Congratulations to Gurvir and Nathan on receiving the Respect Award.
