Kung fu has affected my life in a lot of ways that I didn't realize for a long time. I grew up doing kung fu and so for me, the ways it affected my life were just my normal.

It wasn't until late elementary school when I stopped doing Kung fu for a while that I noticed the difference. Especially after I finally returned, I noticed that immediately my every day energy levels were higher, I was more happy and more motivated to do things, and I had a consistent part of my week to look forward to.

But that's just the active affects Kungfu has had on my life. Since I was little, I have learned perseverance, I have learned persistence, I have learned discipline, and all of these things change the way I interact with the world, from school to work to hobbies that I enjoy picking up.

Being able to continue doing some thing even when you're tired of it and to keep going even if you feel like progress is slow is an invaluable life skill, and I know it will serve me well for many years more.

In High School, Kungfu became one of the most important things in my life and I believe, now that I've continued on to university, it continues to be a cornerstone in my week, supporting both my physical and mental health.

I want to thank my sister, my friends, and especially my parents for constantly supporting me through the pat 12 years, and for helping me achieve my goals.

But, most of all, I want to think my Shifus, because they have always believed in me, believed that I could do better, and pushed me to find and surpass my limits.

I am so grateful to have teachers who support and encourage me so well.
