Gurvir Singh Black Belt

This topic is about the certain motivations that have motivated me to do Kung Fu, how has it changed, and what are my future dreams and aspirations. I choose this topic, because I can connect to it, as there has been so much that has motivated me to do Kung Fu (Ex. Parents, Shifu's, goal) and these motivations have changed and evolved over time, becoming more and more about my Kung Fu journey. I also have future goals and inspirations I would like to share.

One certain experience I vividly remember the performance of the Bret Harte multicultural fair 2024, and how towards the end even though I wasn't able to cut the board the first time, I was given a second chance, and I did succeed. That is partially the reason behind me choosing the quote, "There is no success without failure" as this valuable experience taught me exactly that. No longer do I cry or sit on past failures, as now I take them as an opportunity to learn and become better. I have also become more forgiving in life, as we humans aren't perfect and we need second chances to learn and grow.

This is a helpful lesson that I am so glad that I learned. Without this lesson, I would have never learned to appreciate failures for what they are, and they help us. This experience also taught me a valuable lesson to my teammates and I, as we learned that communication is key, and that a good team needs to be able to communicate and connect with one another.

My speech starts off about what motivated me to do Kung Fu in the first place and then shifts into the Bret Harte multicultural fair and its impact. Then I will talk about how this affected me, how it has changed my motivations, and what are my future goals. Some thoughts of the future could be that I am still a human being, and that throughout the future, I will have my highs and lows, and I will learn from it and take it as motivation, or it also could talk about what I want in my future, and who I hope to become.

First of all, I am thankful to my Shifu's for helping guide and teach me throughout my Kung Fu journey. Without them I wouldn't be so interested and motivated to do Kung Fu. I am also thankful for my parents for being with me in my Kung Fu journey, and supporting me throughout my life, from dropping me off to school to giving me advice. Finally, I would like to thank myself for not quitting and giving out, doing and committing.
