Recap of the 17th Black Belt - Duan Degree Advancement

On May 17th, SKZ proudly launched and successfully completed the 1st Group of the 17th Black Belt / Duan Advancement! Congratulations to all testers for this incredible achievement!
This 3-hour advancement was not only a demonstration of skill, endurance, and discipline, but also a powerful reflection of what years of Kungfu training can build in a person. Commitment, determination, perseverance, passion, respect, and self-discipline are no longer just lessons in training — they have become part of each tester’s character and way of life. These qualities will continue to guide and strengthen them far beyond the training floor.
One of the most unique and meaningful aspects of this year’s advancement was the official SKZ Judge Team. All judges were trained through SKZ for more than 10 years, achieved Black Duan rankings, and currently serve as Senior Coach Assistants. Their professionalism, leadership, and deep understanding of the art truly represented the growth and teaching achievements of SKZ throughout the years.
This advancement also carried special meaning as one of the testers was SKZ’s senior coach advancing toward the 3rd Duan degree — a reminder that the Kungfu journey never ends. Through decades of dedication, Kungfu has become not just training, but a lifelong lifestyle and philosophy.
For the younger generation, Kungfu develops far more than physical ability. It builds strength, confidence, focus, discipline, resilience, body awareness, and mental toughness. Over time, students begin to understand that Kungfu is more than movements and techniques — it is a path of lifelong growth. Kungfu is timeless. Kungfu is character. Kungfu is strength in both body and spirit.
