Today I will be speaking about my personal application of Kung Fu in my everyday life and how I will continue to apply this knowledge to my future endeavors.
I chose to speak about this topic because Kung Fu ideals have been very impactful to me in many aspects of my life. Kung Fu, in a general sense, means any skill or art requiring hard work and discipline to achieve. It is the labor and effort put into accomplishing something. I have used this ideology throughout my 9 years of training Kung Fu to remind myself of how hard I work every day to achieve my goals.
Over the years, Kung Fu has taught me many practical lessons such as the importance of discipline. Discipline is one of the many important things I have learned from Kung Fu. When I need to practice and polish up a move in a form, I take time to dedicate myself to perfecting that particular part. I always try my best to train as hard as I can to master the move.
Another thing I have learned is to never give up and always believe in myself. The importance of never giving up even though something is challenging is always worth remembering. Always believing in oneself when the going gets tough can make a noticeable difference in whatever we do, whatever the task may be. Thinking positive is the light that leads to a more confident self.
I can apply this lesson to many other aspects of my life such as school. When my schoolwork is difficult, I can remember how hard I work when training Kung Fu and keep up a good work ethic to just try my best at all times.
My strenuous practice in this studio is also a good way to keep up my confidence in life. I will always remember how much Shifu has pushed me to become the best version of myself that I can be. Now, I want to thank Shifu Andy and Shifu Vincent for helping me to improve my Kung Fu. I would also like to thank my classmates for helping and encouraging me each time we train together.
I also want to thank my parents for their continuous support in my journey to master Kung Fu. Finally, thank you to all the spectators who have come here to watch us and cheer us on this afternoon.
