Cheers To Open Mat Day!

On Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, we held an open mat day at SKZ. What’s open mat day? It’s a day where SKZ opens it’s doors to students and guests alike to train Kungfu together. For this event, we used the forms performed on the

2026 China Spring Festival Gala “Wu Bot” Performance as a base for what would be taught in class. We came to the conclusion that most people would enjoy learning Drunken Fist the most. The form was challenging and difficult for many people, but everyone enjoyed the unusual movements of Drunken Fist. What surprised us is how quickly everyone picked it up.

Everyone got into the mood and acted as if they were actually drunk. No alcohol was consumed during this class, so everyone could drive home safely without worry. We look forward to seeing everyone again!
